Would you like to learn how to make your own decorative cushions in colours to match your room or personalize stitched gifts?
You will learn 3 different methods of applique, add a little bit of quilting, and choose between a zipped, buttoned or envelope back to complete your cushion cover.
This will be a 6 week course covering machine and hand applique techniques, along with 3 separate closures for a cushion cover. You will complete some separate panels in the first weeks, and choose one and make it into an 18" cushion cover. You will quilt this for a front panel then choose between the overlap back, a buttoned back or a zipped closure to complete your cover
You can, of course make all your panels into cushions, but there may not be time during the course.
Requirements: 1m calico or plain pale fabric for front panels and cushion back 4 x fat quarters or a charm pack or scraps for applique pieces 0.5m fusible webbing eg Bondaweb or heat 'n' bond Basic sewing kit, pencil and threads For each cushion you wish to make: 20"x20" wadding and backing fabric for the quilted front and extra calico for each extra cushion back) 16" zip, and or 3 buttons for fastening.
