I hope you've all had a good break and are ready for some new things to doJI've been looking at the responses to the survey (more news on my blog - soon to be published) and there's going to be more evening and weekend classes…

Evenings…

Fat Quarter Friends

1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, 6pm till closing at Hobbycraft Tamworth.

The format will be short workshops using fat quarters… These are quarter yards of fabric, usually bought in packs of 5 or 6 co-ordinating fabrics… The first will be Wednesday 4th January, cost will be £10 and we'll be making small cases (think glasses case size, could also be used for rotary cutters, pens etc ). I'll provide kits, and you can sew by hand or machine (please bring your own). Please let me know if you want to attend as the space is limited and I need to know how many kits to bringJ

2017 dates: Jan 4th & 18th, Feb 1st & 15th, March 1st & 15th, April 5th & 19th(?), May 3rd & 17th, June 7th & 21st, July 5th & 19th, Sept 6th & 20th, Oct 4th & 18th, Nov 1st & 15th, and Dec 6th.

Saturday Workshops

J-Club

1st Saturday of the month, 10am - 1pm Cost £18 per session at L&M Nutt Sewing Machine Shop 418 Chester Road Sutton Coldfield B73 5BS.

The format will be monthly Saturday morning workshops, where we will be working on small projects - bags, cushions, etc.

2017 Dates: Jan 14th, Feb 4th, March 4th, April 1st, May 6th, June 10th, July 1st, Sep 2nd, Oct 7th, Nov 4th and Dec 2nd

Saturday Patchers

2nd Saturday of the month, 10am - 1pm Cost £18 at The Trinity Centre Church Hill Mill Street Sutton Coldfield B72 1TF

The format will be monthly Saturday morning workshops, where we will be working on small projects - bags, cushions, etc.

2017 dates: Jan 21st, Feb 11th, March 11th April tbc, May 13th, June 10th, July 15th, Sept 9th, Oct 14th, Nov 11th, and Dec 9th

Undercover Sewing Machine.

If Santa bought you a new sewing machine, this is a class to help you get to know your sewing machine…We'll cover the basics including threading cleaning, problem solving, stitches, feet, button holes, zips & blind hemming.

Thursday 12th January 2017 10am - noon Cost £20

Beginners Sampler Quilt

If you've always wanted to make a quilt, but didn't know where to start her is the course for you...

A 12 week course aimed at beginners where you will learn basic patchwork techniques, build your own library of patterns, templates and skills that will enable you to complete a small quilt.

Fridays 10am - noon Starting 13th Jan 2017 Cost £180

Introduction to Machine Quilting

If you already make quilts, but would like to extend your skills this six week course is where you will learn how to use your evenfeed/walking foot and your embroidery/darning foot to add texture to your work.

Mondays 1pm-3pm Starting 9th January 2017 Cost £90

Applique, Applique, Applique

If you are thinking about adding flowers and lettering to items, then in this 6 week course, you will learn 3 separate appliqué techniques, and how to make a cushion cover, unclduing how to insert a zip/ button for the back closing.

Tuedays 10am - noon Starting 10th January2017 Cost £90

Bags of fun

Would you like to learn some basic bag making skills? In this 6 week course you will make bags with zips, pockets, and drawstrings, bags large and small.

Mondays 10am - noon Starting 9th January Cost £90

The blog is nearly ready now, and this is where you'll find the block of the month (you can work on your own, or bring to any of the Saturday/evening workshops), general updates regarding the online classes and information about events etc.
